John started what is now CIO Solutions in 1986. He built the company from the ground up starting in a one room apartment located in Isla Vista. John soon discovered that he could not fill all of the positions and the rest is history. He sits on many prestigious boards including the UCSB Economic Forecast Project, the MIT Forum and TeraMatrix Media, Inc. John was born and raised in Pittsburg but now calls sunny Santa Barbara his home. He lives here with his wife and daughter. |

Eric Egolf came to CIO six years ago and quickly moved up the ranks to become a leader for the company. Eric grew up in Connecticut and moved to California in 2004 after graduating with Honors from Trinity College with a BS in Computer Science. Eric lives with his wife and step-daughter in Santa Barbara and enjoys kite surfing, watching UFC, traveling, camping, and relaxing with friends. |

Eric Engmyr, Sr. Account Manager Eric Engmyr is one of CIO's longest standing employees. He started working for CIO back in 1989. After a brief stint in Orange County he returned to his home town and to CIO. Eric was born and raised in Santa Barbara and now lives here with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys soccer, camping, backpacking, gardening, surfing, and spending time with his friends and family. |

Andrew West, Sr. Solutions Architect Andrew has played many roles here at CIO. He came onboard after CIO merged with another company in 1997. Andrew started as an engineer and is now working closely with the Sales team to build the company. Andrew was born and raised in Hawaii, coming to the mainland in 1988 to attend UCSB. He graduated with a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and now calls Santa Barbara his home. He lives in Goleta with his wife and enjoys hiking, camping, DJ-ing, and relaxing with friends. |

David is a true native of Santa Barbara; he was born at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital! After spending some time in the Bay Area, David returned to Santa Barbara in 2004 and came to work for CIO as an engineer in 2009 and has recently been promoted to CTO. David has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University. He currently lives with his wife, who was also born and raised in Santa Barbara, and their two daughters. David loves to spend his free time with his family. |

Julie Mendoza, Controller
Julie was born in Missouri and grew up in Florida, but she has lived in Santa Barbara for 27 years. Julie joined the CIO team back in 1994. She has an AS in Computer Science from SBCC, as well as accounting certifications from UCSB. She also has a self-proclaimed BS from the "School of Hard Knocks". Currently, Julie lives with her husband and has two children and five grandchildren. She enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, and spending time with her grandkids. |

Hannah Rich, Professional Services Coordinator Hannah moved down to Santa Barbara from chilly Northern California after graduating from Humboldt State University with a degree in Psychology. She started working for CIO in August of 2006 as the receptionist while she perused her Masters Degree at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Hannah graduated in May of 2009 and instead of becoming a therapist, she decided to stay with CIO and help the company grow. She currently lives with her boyfriend in Santa Barbara and enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, dancing, knitting, and being with friends. |

Samantha came onboard as our new receptionist at the end of August 2010. She is quickly learning the CIO way and enjoys working with the team. Samantha was raised in Santa Barbara currently lives with her boyfriend in Goleta. She has an eclectic background including baking and bartending. She enjoys playing pool and being with friends and family.

Michael Biancone, Purchaser/Sales Michael was born in Germany and spent his grade school years in England. His family relocated to America in 1979 and he spent his later teenage years living in Florida. He moved to California in 1987 after graduating from Florida International University with a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management. Michael had many jobs in restaurant management and co-owned a business in Santa Barbara with his brother for 10 years. He came to work for CIO in March of 2007. He lives with his wife and has three children. Michael enjoys gardening, cooking, refereeing youth soccer, and attending concerts. |

Brandon Contreras, Business Development Brandon works for CIO as our Business Development Agent and has been with the company since 2009. Brandon was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and was raised here in beautiful SB. Brandon is currently a student at Santa Barbara City College and in his free time he enjoys skateboarding and acting. |

Mike's hometown is Upland, CA. He first came to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB, where he received a BA in Sociology. He moved back to Santa Barbara after receiving his Master's in Business Administration from CSULA. Mike has been with CIO since November of 2005. Mike contributes fun articles on edhat.com and was named their "Santa Barbara's Nicest Person Named Mike" in 2006. He lives with his wife and two children and enjoys finding and rating unique sodas, cooking, computers, and movies. Craig McClellan, Remote Engineer Craig is a local boy, through and through. He was born and raised in Santa Barbara and looks forward raising a family here as well. He came to work for CIO in February in 2010 after coming from a background of audio/visual design and implementation. Craig enjoys camping, snowboarding, wake-boarding, and working on his vehicles. |

Richard Clark, Remote Engineer Richard spent the majority of his childhood growing up in Santa Barbara, but he was born in Japan and his family moved around a lot when his father was in the Navy. Richard is a proud Royal; he attended San Marcos High School. He also received a BA in Cognitive Science at UC Merced. Richard just started working for CIO in June of 2010. In his free time he enjoys playing bass guitar, reading, fiddling with electronics, playing video games, hiking, and brewing beer with his father. |

Nic is one of our native Santa Barbarians; he was born at Goleta Valley Hospital! He currently lives in Santa Barbara with his wife, and started working for CIO in April of this year. Nic is working on attaining his AS in Computer Networking from SBCC. In his off time he likes to fix computers, create chainmail (think Medieval, not junk mail), and go driving and hiking in the mountains. |

Kyle started with CIO in July 2010. Kyle commutes to CIO from his home in Santa Maria. When he isn't working (or driving) he likes to stay active. Brian Donovan, Remote Engineer (Delivery Driver) Brian started with CIO at the end of August and has quickly become part of the 'family'. Brian was born and raised in Carpentaria and after a stint in Iowa, Brian has returned to his hometown. He enjoys surfing, snowboarding, spear fishing and hanging out with his dog Bella.

Chase has been working with CIO Solutions for over 3 years as a Field Engineer, coming onboard in 2007. Chase was born in Fr. Bragg, California but grew up in Grants Pass, Oregon. Chase started at Rogue Community College when was only 13 years old and received his associates degree by the age of 15. Chase lives with his wife in Santa Barbara and enjoys World of Warcraft, disc golf and reading. Jeff grew up in the Valley (LA) and moved to Santa Barbara in 2008 to begin working with CIO Solutions. He has an AA from Moorpark College and a BS in Information Systems from CSUN. Jeff has many hobbies and always likes to be active. He is involved in wrestling, Judo and Aikido; works on motorcycles and cars; enjoys fishing, shooting and camping; and plays various video games and board games. Nicholas Picon has been working with CIO since 2006. Nick was born and raised in Southern California but now calls Santa Ynez his home. While in LA, Nick was involved in the music scene acting as a promoter for many of the popular clubs. Nick enjoys playing golf, traveling and music. Burt has had a long history at CIO. He first worked with CIO when it was called the Computer Network 20 years ago. He then left and worked for UCSB for 14 years, returning to CIO back in February of 2010. Burt was born in Santa Barbara and was raised in Goleta. He now lives in Buellton with his wife and three children. Burt enjoys anything technical, especially studying IT issues and programming languages. He is active in his community, is involved with Christian leadership and loves anything that has to do with sports. Chris came to CIO in 2006 after graduating from UCSB with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. A San Diego native, Chris enjoys video games, writing fiction, and bringing his characters to life on paper through art and drawing. |

Ryan Popke, System Builder and Shipping/Receiving Ryan has been working with CIO since 2008 as our Shipping/Receiving manager and System Builder. Ryan grew up in Escondido, CA and moved to Santa Barbara 5 years ago. He enjoys building high-end PCs, taking long road trips and playing various online video games. |
